PM Inaugurates 10,000th Jan Aushadhi Kendra 

  • The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi officially opened the 10,000th Jan Aushadhi Kendra at AIIMS, Deoghar.  
  • This occasion also saw the initiation of an ambitious program geared towards elevating the count of Jan Aushadhi Kendras across the nation from 10,000 to 25,000 centres. 
  • Prime Minister also introduced the Pradhan Mantri Mahila Kisan Drone Kendra and engaged in a virtual interaction with beneficiaries of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra. 

Nagaland Celebrates its 61st Statehood Day 

  • Nagaland is celebrating its 61st Statehood Day on 1st December 2023.  
  • It became the 16th State of the Union of India on 1st December 1963.  
  • A state level event will be held at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat Kohima. 
  • Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will take the General salute and deliver his address to the people of the state.   
  • CM will launch Nagaland School Safety Policy Digital Training Platform and Nagaland Disaster Risk Reduction Road Map.  
  • He will also inaugurate a photo exhibition on "Nagaland at 60", organised by the Department of Information & Public Relations.  

Centre Approves Reconstruction Plan of Joshimath 

  •  Joshimath, situated in Uttarakhand, encountered significant difficulties arising from landslides and ground subsidence.  
  • A comprehensive recovery and reconstruction plan, totalling ₹1,658.17 crore, was endorsed by a high-level central committee under the leadership of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. 

BCCL Starts 5.0 MTPA Madhuband Washery Operations 

  • Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), operating under the Ministry of Coal, has declared the commencement of commercial operations at the advanced 5.0 MTPA (millions of tonnes per annum) Madhuband Washery.  
  • The washery officially began its commercial activities on November 29, 2023, with the presence and guidance of Shri Samiran Dutta, CMD of BCCL. 

Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL): 

  • BCCL was incorporated in January, 1972 to operate the coking coal mines in Jharia and Raniganj coalfields which were acquired by the Government of India on 16 October, 1971. 
  • Its aim is to ensure planned development of the scarce coking coal resources in the country.  
  • It is a public sector undertaking engaged in coal mining and allied activities.  
  • It holds an important position as it produces the bulk of coking coal mined in the country.
