• Genesis: In April 1955, 29 governments from Asia and Africa gathered in Bandung to discuss critical global issues such as peace, the role of the Third World during the Cold War, and economic development. 
• Co-sponsors: The conference was co-sponsored by Indonesia, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, India, and Pakistan. 
• Core Principles: The 10 Core Principles of the Bandung Conference included self-determination, sovereignty, non-aggression, non-interference in internal affairs, and equality among nations.
