Why in News? 

Bihar State Election Commission is introducing an Android-based e-voting system for upcoming municipal and urban body elections. 

Mobile-Based Voting 

Voting will be done through two mobile applications named “e-Voting SECBHR”: 
(1) Developed by Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) 
(2) Developed by Bihar State Election Commission (BSEC) 

Audit Trail Feature 

Like Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) used with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), this system includes an audit trail to record and verify each vote, making the process transparent and tamper-proof. 

Purpose: To promote secure, transparent and convenient digital voting for the public using mobile technology.
