Bangus Adventure Festival
- Manoj Sinha, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, launched the Bangus Adventure Festival on 10th September 2023 in the Kupwara district of North Kashmir.
- The festival's main aim is to bring attention to the unexplored rural and adventure tourism.
Prathamesh Jawkar Wins Silver Medal in Archery World Cup
- Prathamesh Jawkar, the Indian archer clinched the silver medal in the Archery World Cup 2023 by defeating Denmark’s Mathias Fullerton.
- The Archery World Cup 2023 Final was held in Hermosillo, Mexico.

- India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi passed the G20 Presidency gavel to the President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
- Brazil is set to officially take the helm of this prestigious group on 1st December 2023.
G-20
- The G20 was founded in 1999 after the Asian financial crisis as a forum for the Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors to discuss global economic and financial issues.
- The G20 is an informal group of 19 countries and the European Union, with representatives of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
- The G20 membership comprises a mix of the world’s largest advanced and emerging economies, representing about two-thirds of the world’s population, 85% of global gross domestic product, 80% of global investment and over 75% of global trade.
Indian Coast Guard Participates in Asian Maritime Security Meet
- The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) participated in the 19th Meeting of Heads of Asian Coast Guard Agencies (HACGAM) held in Istanbul, Turkey, from September 5th to 8th 2023.
- This initiative aimed to ensure and promote safe, secure, and clean seas in the Asian region.
- The ICG delegation including four members was led by Director General Rakesh Pal.
African Union Becomes Permanent Member of G-20
- The African Union has been granted the full membership of the G-20 on September 9, 2023.
- After the EU, African Union is the second regional bloc to join the G20.
African Union:
- The African Union (AU) is a continental body consisting of the 55 member states that make up the countries of the African Continent.
- In 1963, the Organization of African Unity was founded by the independent states of Africa. The organization aimed to promote cooperation between African states.
- The 1980 Lagos Plan of Action was adopted by the Organization of African Unity. The plan suggested that Africa should minimize reliance upon the West by promoting intra-African trade.
- In 2002, the Organization of African Unity was succeeded by the African Union, which had as one of its goals to accelerate the "economic integration of the continent”.
