1 India’s Sindhu Gangadharan as the New Vice-Chairperson of NASSCOM
- Sindhu Gangadharan has been appointed as the Vice-Chairperson of The National Association of Software and Service Companies (Nasscom).
NASSCOM
- NASSCOM, a non-profit industry association, is the apex body for the IT industry in India.
- Established in 1988, NASSCOM’s relentless pursuit has been to constantly support the IT and BPO industry.
- Members of NASSCOM are Indian Co software development, software services, IT-enabled/BPO services.
- NASSCOM role has primarily been to make sure that service quality and enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights have been properly implemented in the Indian software and BPO industry.
2 ITI Limited Develops Self-Branded Laptop & Micro PC ‘SMAASH’
- ITI Limited, a government-owned enterprise operating under the Ministry of Communication has unveiled its latest offerings in the form of a laptop and micro-PC, branded as 'SMAASH'.
- These flagship products have been developed in collaboration with Intel Corporation.
- 'SMAASH' PCs are integrated with solar solutions, as they are highly compatible with DC input.
3 Kiran George Wins Indonesia Badminton Masters Title
- India’s Kiran George won the Indonesia Masters Super 100 men's singles title defeating Japan's Koo Takahashi.
- This marks Kiran George’s Second BWF World Tour Super 100 badminton title, following his victory at the Odisha Open of 2022.
4 Inauguration First Global Symposium on Farmers’ Rights in New Delhi
- The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the First Global Symposium on Farmers' Rights in New Delhi.
- This Symposium was organised by the Secretariat of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (International Treaty) of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome, was hosted by the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
5 Launch of 'AutoPay on QR'
- Cashfree Payments, in partnership with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), has introduced 'AutoPay on QR.'
- The feature helps in the customer onboarding process through a two-step workflow of scanning the QR code and approving an e-mandate via UPI apps within 30 seconds.
6 Host Cities of 62nd edition of the Subroto Cup
- Bengaluru has been added as one of the host cities for the 62nd edition of the Subroto Cup International Football Tournament in addition to Delhi and Gurugram.
- Scheduled between September 19 and October 23, 2023, the tournament will take place at three different venues.
