Rajnath Singh to Participate in 10th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting-Plus

  • Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh will participate in the 10th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting-Plus (ADMM-Plus).
  • He will deliver a speech addressing regional and international security concerns during the meeting.
  • Indonesia is hosting the meeting in its capital, Jakarta, as the chair of ADMM-Plus from November 16 to 17, 2023.

IICA Signs MoU with Lean Campus Startups & WEICI India

  • In Manesar, Gurugram, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) and Lean Campus Startups (Trust) & WEICI India.
  • The joint aim of IICA and Lean Campus Startups & WEICI India is to enhance the knowledge, skills, and competencies of both corporate and women entrepreneurs for the efficient establishment and management of a diverse workforce.
  • Under the collaboration with IICA, LCS will coordinate programs tailored for women entrepreneurs and students.

Russia, India Signs Deal on Supply and Production of Igla Air Defence System

  • Russia and India have entered into an agreement for the supply and production of the Igla-S Man-Portable Air Defence System (MANPADS), a hand-held anti-aircraft missile.
  • The Igla-S is specifically engineered to combat low-flying aircraft and helicopters. With a range spanning from 500 meters to 6000 meters and the capability to engage altitudes ranging from 10 meters to 3500 meters, it operates on the "fire-and-forget" principle.
  • This advanced anti-aircraft missile is exported by the Russian Defence Export agency, Rosoboronexport.

India's Wholesale Inflation Continues to Decline

  • The Wholesale Price Index (WPI)-based inflation rate in India has sustained its downward trajectory, reaching a three-month low of -0.52% in October.
  • This marks the seventh consecutive month of deflation, with multiple factors contributing to the continued negative trend.

Federal Bank's arm Fedfina, Ireda get nod from Sebi to float IPOs

  • The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has granted approval to four companies — Fedbank Financial Services Limited (Fedfina), Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA), EPACK Durable, and Suraj Estate Developers — to raise funds through initial public offerings (IPOs).
  • These companies' equity shares are set to be listed on both the BSE (formerly Bombay Stock Exchange) and NSE (National Stock Exchange).
