National Vaccination Day 2024

  • National Vaccination Day is annually observed on 16th March.
  • The day create awareness about the importance of vaccines which protects from deadly diseases like polio and smallpox and encouraged people to get vaccinated to stay safe and healthy.

Defence Minister Inaugurated Nausena Bhawan

  • Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated Indian Navy headquarter Nausena Bhawan at New Delhi.
  • It is the first independent headquarter of Indian Navy.
  • Previously, the Navy operated from 13 different locations.

Hardeep S Puri Launched Ethanol 100 Fuel Initiative

  • Union Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Housing and Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri launched ETHANOL 100.
  • Ethanol 100 is an automotive fuel at Indian Oil Retail Outlet which aimed at reducing emissions and promoting sustainability.
  • It is available at 183 retail petrol outlets across Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, New Delhi, and Tamil Nadu with plans for further expansion.

Greeshma Kuthar and Ritika Chopra Awarded Chameli Devi Jain Award 2024

  • Greeshma Kuthar and Ritika Chopra jointly awarded Chameli Devi Jain award 2024 for outstanding women media person.
  • The award was set up by The Media Foundation in 1980 and named after Chameli Devi Jain, a freedom fighter and community reformer.
  • The first award was given in 1982 and recognizes impactful journalism in fields such as social development, politics, gender justice, human rights, health, conflict, and consumer values.

  • Ratan Tata awarded PV Narasimha Rao Memorial Award for philanthropic contributions.
