World Heritage Day 2024

• World Heritage Day is annually observed on 18^th April.
• The day aims to raise awareness about the diversity and importance of the world’s cultural heritage, and the need to protect and preserve it for future generations.
• The theme for the day 2024 is Disasters & Conflicts Through the Lens of the Venice Charter.

DRDO Inaugurated Space

• Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) inaugurated a state-of-the-art facility called the Submersible Platform for Acoustic Characterisation and Evaluation (SPACE) in Kerala.
• It is set up by the Naval Physical & Oceanographic Laboratory of the DRDO and is designed as a premier testing and evaluation hub for sonar systems destined for Indian Navy.

Saksham App

• Election Commission of India (ECI) has launched the Saksham app to facilitate voter registration and electoral services for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).
• It is a mobile application which aims to make the voting process more accessible and inclusive by providing customized services to PwDs ensuring their active participation in the democratic process.

Apple And CleanMax Collaborated to Advance Renewable Energy in India

• CleanMaxa collaborated with Apple to Advance Renewable Energy in India under which CleanMax has installed 14.4 megawatts of rooftop solar installations spanning six industrial sites across the nation.
• These installations are forecasted to curtail approximately 207,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions throughout their operational lifespan.
