  • Sue Redfern of England becomes the first female neutral umpire appointed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to officiate in a bilateral series.

  • Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) launched Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Intelligent Internet of Things (IIoT) Sensors and India’s first Graphene Centre India Innovation Centre for Graphene (IICG) in Kerala.
  • The CoE in IIoT Sensors is a facility to catalyze the development of sensors within the realm of Intelligent IoT systems covering a broad spectrum of applications of intelligent sensors in networks, devices and sensor systems.
  • The IICG aims to foster R&D, product innovation and capacity building in Graphene and 2D material systems.

Rear Admiral Shantanu Jha Appointed as Chief Staff Officer

  • Rear Admiral Shantanu Jha has become the Chief Staff Officer (Operations) at the Eastern Naval Command.
  • He is a Navigation and Direction specialist and has served as Navigating Officer onboard six frontline Frigates, Destroyers and Aircraft carrier INS Viraat.
  • His seafaring assignments include serving as the Executive Officer on INS Vikramaditya and commanding INS Nishank, INS Kora, and INS Sahyadri.
