Sheetal Devi Becomes National Person with Disability (PwD) Icon of Election Commission

• Election Commission has announced Para Archer and Arjuna Awardee, Sheetal Devi as its National Person with Disability (PwD) Icon.
• Her name was announced at an Exhibition Cricket Match between the Indian Deaf Cricket Association Team and the Delhi and District Cricket Association team in Delhi.
• The match was organised by the Election Commission in association with the Board of Control for Cricket in India to foster voter education and inclusivity.

Election Commision Launched Voter’s Guide for PwDs and Senior Citizen

• The election Commission launched Voter’s Guide for PwDs and Senior Citizen Electors.
• The comprehensive booklet outlines essential provisions available to PwDs and senior citizens including infrastructural, informative, and procedural details at polling stations.

Exercise Lamitiye 2024

• Indian army contingent departs for Seychelles to participate in the 10th edition of the joint military exercise LAMITIYE-2024 between the Indian Army and the Seychelles Defence Forces (SDF).
• The exercise named LAMITIYE means Friendship in the Creole language and is a biennial training event.
• The aim of the exercise is to enhance interoperability in Sub-conventional Operations in Semi-Urban environment under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter on Peace Keeping Operations.

Ordnance Factory Day 2024

• Ordnance Factory Day is annually observed on 18th March.
• The day honour the Indian Ordnance Factories and their employees that provide arms and ammunition to the Indian Armed Forces.
