NASA Relaunches Spacecraft to Study 'God of Chaos'
- NASA has recently relaunched a spacecraft with the purpose of investigating asteroid Apophis.
- The spacecraft, previously known as OSIRIS-REx, has been renamed as OSIRIS-APEx.
- This celestial object, named after the Egyptian god of Chaos, is expected to approach Earth at an exceptionally close distance of 32,000 kilometers from the surface on April 13, 2029.
- Prior to this mission, OSIRIS-REx successfully completed a seven-year expedition, returning to Earth with a sample from the asteroid Bennu.
PM Inaugurates New Airport in Ayodhya
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially inaugurated the newly constructed Ayodhya Airport following a roadshow and the unveiling of the redeveloped Ayodhya railway station.
- Prime Minister also laid the foundation stones for several development projects in Uttar Pradesh.
- Besides the inaugurations, PM Modi also flagged off new Amrit Bharat and Vande Bharat trains.
ULFA Peace Accord
- The pro-talks faction of the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) signed a peace accord with the Centre and state Governments.
- This agreement aims to shun violence, disband the organisation and join the democratic process.
Centre Sanctions Projects Worth ₹1,170 crores in Ladakh
- Centre Government has approved a sum of Rs 1,170.16 crore for 29 road projects in Ladakh.
- This initiative is aimed at tackling the connectivity issues experienced by Ladakh, the largest Union Territory in terms of area and the second least populous in the country.
- This improvement is anticipated to boost economic activities, especially in the sectors of agriculture and tourism, thereby fostering the comprehensive infrastructure development of Ladakh.
Sandes App
- Paramilitary forces are set to adopt the 'Sandes App' for official communication and document sharing in the coming year.
- This change is the strategic initiative to fortify data security and emphasize the use of domestic technology.
- This transition highlights the increasing significance of protecting sensitive information and ensuring secure messaging platforms within security organizations.
