World NGO Day
World NGO Day is observed annually on February 27. The theme of this year "the role and influence of NGOs in advancing human rights and achieving sustainable development goals". The representative of the Baltic Sea NGO Forum in the Baltic Sea States announced World NGO Day in 2010. The first week of February has been designated as World NGO Week by the UN General Assembly.
Ellora Ajanta International Festival
The Ajanta Ellora International Festival 2023 took place in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, from February 25 to February 27. The Ajanta Ellora International Festival 2023 promises to be a feast for the senses as it celebrates the region's rich cultural legacy and diversity. The festival features performances by national and international performers as well as exhibits of the artwork and architecture from the Ellora and Ajanta caves. The festival was organized by the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation and supported by the state government.

56th death anniversary of Savarkar observed in Maharashtra
27th February 2023 marked the 56th death anniversary of Savarkar. Known as Veer Savarkar, Vinayak Damodar Savarkar a well-known revolutionary and independence fighter was born on 28th May 1883 in the Maharashtrian village of Bhagur in the Nashik district. On February 26, 1966, he passed away in Bombay. The state's governor, Ramesh Bais, the chief minister, Eknath Shinde, and the deputy chief minister, Devendra Fadnavis, honoured the well-known social reformer.
ICC Women's T20 World Cup: Australia won the Women’s T20 World Cup
Australia Clinch 6th Women’s T20 World Cup Title by beating South Africa in the final at Newlands. Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner won the ICC Player of the Tournament award.
Marconi Prize 2023
The Marconi Foundation, based in the United States, bestows the Marconi Prize, a prestigious award for computer scientists. It is presented to individuals "who have made a significant contribution to increasing digital inclusivity through advanced information and communications technology." The Marconi Prize for the year 2023 has been given to computer scientist Hari Balakrishnan. "For fundamental contributions to wired and wireless networking, mobile sensing, and distributed systems," Dr. Balakrishnan has been mentioned.
India’s Indigenous LCA Tejas Lands in UAE to take part in its first-ever Foreign Air Exercise
According to the India Air Force, a contingent of 110 Air Warriors from the IAF arrived at the United Arab Emirates' Al Dahfra airbase to take part in the exercise, which would include five LCA Tejas and two C-17 Globemaster III aircraft. The IAF stated in a statement, "This is the first time the LCA Tejas will participate in an international flying exercise outside of India." The exercise will take place between February 27 and March 17.
Madhya Pradesh to win Senior Women’s National Hockey Championship
After defeating Hockey Maharashtra 5-1 in the championship game in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, Hockey Madhya Pradesh won the 13th Hockey India Senior Women National Championship in 2023. In the meantime, Hockey Jharkhand won the third-place game against Hockey Haryana to take third place.
In addition, individuals who performed admirably throughout the Championship received awards from Hockey India. The following are the individual prizes for the 2023 Hockey India Senior Women's National Championship:

New Delhi World Book Fair 2023 returned after 3 years gap
The World Book Fair began in New Delhi, where books for adults, students, and children of all ages are on display. The New Delhi World Book Fair (NDWBF) is returning to its full physical form after a three-year absence from the World Book Fair, which features over 30 nations and nearly 1,000 publishers and exhibitors. The World Book Fair in New Delhi will be held from 25th February to 5th March 2023 at Pragati Maidan.
Daniil Medvedev defeats Andy Murray, wins Qatar Open title

Youth 20 India Summit hosted by Maharaja Sayojirao University, Gujarat

International IP Index
The U.S. Chambers of Commerce's International IP Index placed India 42nd out of 55 leading global economies. In the 2023 index, the United States comes in first, followed by the United Kingdom and France.
IP Index on a Global Scale: The US Chambers of Commerce produce this annual report. It looks at how IP rights are protected in the 55 major economies that make up 90% of the world's GDP. Patent and copyright laws, the possibility of monetizing IP assets, and the ratification of international agreements are all covered in the report. The objective of the index is to assist nations in advancing toward a more promising economic future marked by increased creativity, innovation, and competitiveness.
Country’s first Mariana at Byndoor
In order to promote coastal tourism in Karnataka, the government of Karnataka will construct the nation's first marina, also known as a boat basin with dockage, at Byndoor in the Udupi district. In addition, the government will ask the Centre for permission to relax the coastal regulation zone (CRZ) in order to promote beach tourism and pilgrimage tourism in coastal areas.
The Department of Archaeology will provide the government with the history of the state's greatest dynasties, including Ganga, Kadamba, Rashtrakoota, Chalukya, and Hoysala. IOC to set up green hydrogen plants at all refineries
As part of a Rs 2 billion green transition plan to achieve net-zero emissions from its operations by 2046, India's leading oil company IOC will install green hydrogen plants at all of its refineries.
In an effort to make itself ready for the future, Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) is re-modelling its business with a greater emphasis on petrochemicals in order to hedge against volatility in the fuel business. Additionally, IOC is turning gasoline pumps into energy outlets that provide EV charging points and battery swapping options in addition to conventional fuels.
Nokia updates their logo to mark the beginning of the new era

Lt. Gen RS Reen takes charges as director general quality assurance
Director General Quality Assurance was assumed by Lieutenant General RS Reen. Lt Gen Reen graduated from the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, and was an officer in the batch of 1986. Reen holds a Six Sigma Black Belt certification from the Indian Statistical Institute in Kolkata.
