Young Professionals Scheme
The Young Professionals Scheme, which will allow Indian nationals between the ages of 18 and 30 to live and work in Britain for up to two years, will be launched on February 28, 2023, by India and the UK. The establishment of the Young Professionals Program between India and the United Kingdom is regarded as a significant milestone in the growth of India's and the United Kingdom's relationship. It also brought to light the United Kingdom's determination to advance the free trade agreement (FTA) negotiations and strengthen its ties to the Indo-Pacific region.
National Science Day 2023 celebrated on 28th February
The Indian scientist and physician Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman is honoured annually on February 28 with National Science Day for discovering the "Raman Effect." It is celebrated annually to remember the impact that science has had on human life and to recognize the importance of science. The event this year has the theme "Global Science for Global Wellness" to honor India's G20 leadership. To commemorate the announcement of the discovery of the "Raman Effect," the Government of India, led by then-Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, designated February 28 as National Science Day in 1986.
Shailesh Pathak named FICCI Secretary General
Shailesh Pathak, a former bureaucrat, has been named the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry's (FICCI) new Secretary General. On March 1, he will take over the charge. Pathak has led large private companies as well as worked for the government as an IAS officer over the course of 37 years. After graduating from IIM Calcutta in 1986, he earned an MBA. He has a Diploma in Ornithology and an LLB. He has trekked extensively and has climbed a 6831-meter Himalayan peak.
FICCI also said that the Director General, Arun Chawla, will retire on June 30, 2023, and move into an advisory role.
