World Theatre Day 2024

• World Theatre Day is annually observed on 27^th March.
• The day was established by the International Theatre Institute (ITI) in 1962 and is dedicated to the art form of theatre and its importance in society.
• The day aims to make people aware of the value of the art form and enable the dance and theatre communities to promote their work on a broad scale.
• The theme of the day 2024 is Theatre and a Culture of Peace.

Abhay Thakur Appointed as the New Ambassador to Myanmar

• Senior Indian diplomat Abhay Thakur has been appointed as the new ambassador to Myanmar.
• He is a 1992-batch officer of the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and currently working as an Officer on Special Duty in the Ministry of External Affairs.
• He had served as the sous-sherpa (deputy representative) for the G20 process during India’s presidency of the influential group of 20 major economies.

RBI Grants Payment Aggregator Licences to Innoviti Payments and Concerto Software

• Innoviti Payments and Concerto Software have received payment aggregator (PA) licences from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
• Innoviti operates the PA ‘Innoviti Link’, serving 2,500 online merchants, while Concerto Software’s gateway ‘Vegaah’ joins the league of authorized PA solutions.

LIC Becomes World’s Strongest Insurance Brand

• Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) is termed as the strongest insurance brand according to the report by Brand Finance Insurance 100, 2024.
• It maintains a stable brand value of Rs 816 billion. With a Brand Strength Index score of 88.3 and an AAA brand strength rating.
• Cathay Life Insurance has become the second strongest brand with a brand value of Rs 408 billion.
