India Launches a Single-Window Portal for Medical Devices
- The 'National Single Window System (NSWS), is a consolidated portal aimed at facilitating the import of medical devices.
- It is introduced by India's Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) and developed by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).
- It facilitates applications for the certificate of registration and licences to manufacture or import medical devices for various purposes, including clinical investigations, tests, evaluations, demonstrations, and training.
- This endeavour seeks to establish a centralized platform for investors, thereby improving the overall business environment.
J&K Becomes First UT to Implement PM Vishwakarma Yojana
- Jammu and Kashmir has become the first Union Territory (UT) to implement the PM Vishwakarma Yojana (PMVY).
- It is an initiative that aims to empower and enhance the skills of the craftsman community.
- The event also marked the beginning of the training initiative for the initial group of 30 trainees (Viswakarmas) specializing in the 'darzi craft.'
Rajasthan to Merge its Chiranjeevi Scheme with Ayushman Bharat
- The recently elected BJP administration in Rajasthan has requested approval from the Union Health Ministry to merge the state's Chiranjeevi health insurance scheme with the central Ayushman Bharat program.
- The proposed scheme is to be known as the Ayushman Bharat Mukhyamantri Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme.
- It anticipated to maintain the current advantages of the state program, providing a ₹25 lakh insurance cover for both private and government hospitals.

- Nivea India has revealed the selection of Geetika Mehta as its new managing director.
- Pfrom the position of managing director at Hershey India.
- Prior to her tenure at Hershey India, she dedicated almost two decades to Hindustan Unilever Ltd.
CAA Rules to be Notified Before Lok Sabha Elections
- Rules for the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), approved by Parliament in December 2019, are expected to be officially announced before the Lok Sabha elections 2024.
- The legislation was passed by the Lok Sabha on 9th December 2019, and by the Rajya Sabha two days later.
- The President granted assent to the Bill on 12th December 2019 and it came into force on 10th January 2020. However, CAA rules are yet to be implemented.
- Once the rules are issued, the law can be implemented and those eligible can be granted Indian citizenship.
- It aims to expedite the granting of Indian citizenship to Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis, and Christians—excluding Muslims—who migrated to India due to religious persecution in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh.
Binny Bansal Launches New E-commerce Startup OppDoor
- Binny Bansal, the co-founder of Flipkart, has purportedly initiated a new startup aimed at delivering comprehensive solutions to e-commerce companies.
- After his departure from Flipkart following its acquisition by Walmart in 2018, this marks the first instance of Bansal launching his own venture, Known as OppDoor.
- Bansal's startup is set to offer a range of services to e-commerce firms, encompassing aspects such as design, product management, human resources, and other backend support, as reported by the media.
- These services are intended for enterprises seeking expansion into different regions through network platforms like Amazon and others.
