Nandini Das Wins 2023 British Academy Book Prize
- Indian origin writer, Nandini Das has won the British Academy Book Prize for Global Cultural Understanding with her inaugural work, 'Courting India: England, Mughal India, and the Origins of Empire.'
- The establishment of the British Academy Book Prize for Global Cultural Understanding dates back to 2013.
- It was formerly recognized as the Nayef Al-Rodhan Prize.
Deepesh Nanda as CEO & MD Of Tata Power Renewable Energy
- Tata Power has appointed Deepesh Nanda as the President-Renewables and the CEO & MD of its subsidiary, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL).
- This transition is set to take effect from November 1, 2023, signifies a strategic advancement in Tata Power's pursuit of establishing a leading position in the renewable energy domain.
Saima Wazed as Regional Director of WHO
- Ms Saima Wazed is nominated for the position of World Health Organization Regional Director for South-East Asia during a private session at the seventy-sixth session of the WHO Regional Committee for South-East Asia Region.
- The nomination will be presented to the WHO Executive Board at its 154th session, scheduled for 22−27 January 2024 in Geneva, Switzerland.
- The newly designated Regional Director is set to assume office on 1 February 2024.
Gwalior, Kozhikode join UNESCO Creative Cities Network
- Gwalior and Kozhikode from India are among the 55 new cities which have joined the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.
- These new cities were acknowledged for their strong commitment to harnessing culture and creativity as part of their development strategies, and displaying innovative practices in human-centred urban planning.
Reliance SBI Card
- SBI Card has revealed a partnership with Reliance Retail for the launch of the Reliance SBI Card.
- This co-branded credit card from SBI and Reliance Retail will offer advantages to cardholders when making purchases at different Reliance Retail stores.
- The card is available in two versions: the Reliance SBI Card and the Reliance SBI Card PRIME.
Sachin Tendulkar’s Statue Unveiled at Wankhede Stadium
- At Mumbai's renowned Wankhede Stadium, a statue of cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar is scheduled to be revealed, coinciding with the World Cup match between India and Sri Lanka.
- The statue is depicting the legendary batsman mid-cricket stroke, will be situated near the Sachin Tendulkar stand, serving as a tribute to the 'Little Master.'
