C-DOT and Qualcomm Sign MoU

  • The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) recently announced its collaboration plans with Qualcomm Technologies.
  • C-DOT is a government-funded research institution in India specializing in telecom technology.
  • Qualcomm Technologies is a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated, during the Mobile World Congress 2024 held in Barcelona, Spain.
  • The partnership aims to cultivate innovation within India by supporting local developers and startups working on groundbreaking products and applications.
  • Under this strategic alliance, Qualcomm Technologies will provide C-DOT with its expertise, state-of-the-art technology, intellectual property training, and tools.
  • This support will empower Indian startups, academic institutions, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to expedite the development and commercialization of indigenous telecom products.

Inauguration of Lighthouse Photo Exhibition

  • The Directorate of Lighthouse and Lightships, operating under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, is hosting a Lighthouse Photo Exhibition scheduled from 3rd March 2024 to 7th March 2024.
  • The four-day exhibition is showcasing a captivating collection of 100 photographs portraying the beauty and historical importance of lighthouses along India's expansive coastline.
  • It will be inaugurated by the Union Minister for Ports, Shipping, and Waterways & AYUSH, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal on 3rd March 2024 held at AIFACS, 1 Rafi Marg, New Delhi.
  • The primary objective of the Lighthouse Photo Exhibition is to promote Lighthouse Tourism, aligning with the Ministry's commitment to transforming all lighthouses in the country into tourist destinations.

Exercise Samudra Laksamana

  • Exercise Samudra Laksamana, spanning from 28th February 2024 to 2nd March 2024, is currently underway at or off the coast of Visakhapatnam.
  • Indian Naval Ship Kiltan and Royal Malaysian Ship KD Lekir are participating in the 3rd edition of this exercise which has harbour professional interactions followed by the operational phase at sea.
  • Exercise Samudra Laksamana seeks to bolster ties and enhance interoperability between the Indian and Royal Malaysian Navies.

Dharmendra Pradhan Launches Project ODISERV

  • Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union Minister of Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, officially launched Project ODISERV in Sambalpur, Odisha.

L&T Commissions First Hydrogen Electrolyser at Hazira

  • Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has reached a significant achievement in the realm of clean energy with the successful commissioning of its inaugural domestically produced electrolyser at the Green Hydrogen Plant located in Hazira, Gujarat.
  • This signifies the debut of L&T Electrolysers Limited in the domestic manufacturing of electrolyser technology, underscoring the company's commitment to promoting sustainable energy solutions.
