Why in News? 

India launched Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan (DAJA) — its largest-ever tribal outreach covering over 1 lakh villages in 31 States/UTs. In just nine days, it reached 53 lakh tribal citizens through 22,000+ camps, driving enrollments in Aadhaar, Ayushman Bharat, PM-Kisan, Ujjwala, and Jan Dhan schemes. 

About the Abhiyan  

  • Launch: Launched by the Union Minister of Tribal Affairs as a major outreach initiative. 
  • Coverage: A large-scale benefit saturation drive is being conducted across 
    • 550 tribal districts 
    • 2,900+ blocks 
    • 207 PVTG-dominated districts 
    • Reaching nearly 1 lakh villages and habitations 
  • Doorstep Delivery of Services 
    • Services are delivered through ‘benefit saturation’ camps. 
    • Focuses on last-mile service delivery directly to the homes of tribal people. 
  • Key Schemes Involved 
    • PM-JANMAN (launched in 2023) 
    • Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) (launched in 2024) 
  • Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh Context 
    • This initiative is a part of Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh, launched to 
      • Celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, a revered tribal freedom fighter. 
      • Honour the culture, legacy, and contributions of tribal communities.
