Why in News? 

ECMS, launched in April 2025, has attracted USD 13 bn investment proposals (double target), with 60% MSME participation and an aim to create 1.41 lakh jobs. 

  • Launch: To complement India Semiconductor Mission. 
  • Tenure: 6 years (FY 2025–26 to 2031–32; includes 1-year gestation). 
  • Objective: Enhance Domestic Value Addition, cut imports, integrate with Global Value Chains. 
  • Linkages: Electronics + automobile, power, industrial sectors. 
  • Incentives: Turnover-linked, capex-linked, or hybrid; partly tied to employment generation; first-come, first-served. 
  • Significance:  
    • Electronics = India’s 3rd largest export; 2nd largest mobile manufacturer. 
    • Goal: USD 500 bn electronics ecosystem by 2030–31.
