India has been placed 131^st out of 148 countries in the World Economic Forum's Global Gender Gap Report 2025.

The Global Gender Gap Report is an annual index created to assess gender equality across various dimensions.
It evaluates the gender gaps in four key areas like economic participation and opportunities, educational achievements, health and survival and political empowerment.
Released by the World Economic Forum (WEF), it has been tracking the progress of countries in narrowing these gaps since its launch in 2006.

The World Economic Forum (WEF) is a global non-governmental organization dedicated to fostering public-private cooperation.
