India has been placed 131st out of 148 countries in the World Economic Forum's Global Gender Gap Report 2025. 

About Global Gender Gap Report 

  • The Global Gender Gap Report is an annual index created to assess gender equality across various dimensions.  
  • It evaluates the gender gaps in four key areas like economic participation and opportunities, educational achievements, health and survival and political empowerment.  
  • Released by the World Economic Forum (WEF), it has been tracking the progress of countries in narrowing these gaps since its launch in 2006.

  • The World Economic Forum (WEF) is a global non-governmental organization dedicated to fostering public-private cooperation.
