Why in News?

India has made its debut in the top 100 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Index, ranking 99th out of 167 countries, according to the 2025 Sustainable Development Report (SDR).

UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN)

Establishment: Founded in 2012 by the United Nations (UN) as a global initiative.
Main Objective: To advance practical solutions for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at both national and global levels.
Key Focus: It focuses on mobilising expertise by connecting universities, research institutions, and national laboratories to identify and develop solutions for tackling critical sustainability challenges.
Secretariat: The SDSN Secretariat operates from Paris (France), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and New York (USA).
