National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) 

  • NHAI has decided to shift the Kherki Daula toll plaza on NH-48 to Kukdola village, about 13 km away from its current location and 1 km ahead of the KMP-Delhi-Jaipur highway intersection on the Gurugram side. 
  • NHAI is a statutory body, responsible for developing, maintaining and managing National Highways in India. 
  • It operates under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. 
  • Established by the NHAI Act, 1998 and became operational in February 1995.

India’s first e-waste recycling park

  • India’s first e-waste recycling park will be set up in Holambi Kalan, Delhi, to process 51,000 tonnes of e-waste annually. 

What is E-Waste? 

  • E-waste, or electronic waste, refers to discarded electronic devices and equipment after their use.  
  • This includes items such as computers, televisions, mobile phones, printers, refrigerators, and air conditioners.  
  • E-waste often contains harmful substances like lead, mercury, cadmium, and chromium, which can pollute the environment if not disposed of correctly.

Multilingual AI Solutions for Indian Railways 

  • BHASHINI (Bhasha Internet) and CRIS (Centre for Railway Information Systems) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deploy multilingual Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions for Indian Railways’ platforms like National Train Enquiry System (NTES) and RailMadad. 
  • The partnership will integrate BHASHINI’s advanced language technology stack including Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), Text-to-Speech (TTS), Text-to-Text Translation, and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to offer railway services in 22 Indian languages.

National e-Governance Awards 2025 

  • Rohini Gram Panchayat in Dhule, Maharashtra, won the Gold Award in the National e-Governance Awards 2025 for implementing 956+ digital services. 
  • The award is presented by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) and the Ministry of Panchayati Raj. 
  • Rohini sets a benchmark in digital rural governance and tribal empowerment under the Digital India initiative. 

Ibex Tarana 

  • Army Chief Gen Upendra Dwivedi visited Garhwal, Uttarakhand, to assess troop readiness and morale at forward posts. 
  • He inaugurated Ibex Tarana 88.4 FM, a community radio station in Jyotirmath, promoting local culture, youth engagement, and civil-military cooperation. 
  • The station broadcasts on education, employment, disaster preparedness, tourism, and regional arts. 
  • Gen Dwivedi also honoured veterans with the Veterans Achievement Award for their service and social contributions.
