The European Union Naval Force (EUNAVFOR) has proposed a joint naval exercise under Operation ATALANTA with the Indian Navy, to strengthen maritime cooperation. 

About Operation ATALANTA 

• Launched by: European Union Naval Force (EUNAVFOR) 
• Objective: To promote peace, stability, and maritime security in international waters by: 
  • Combating piracy 
  • Preventing narcotics trafficking 
  • Stopping illegal fishing 
• Operational Area: Western Indian Ocean and Red Sea region
