Javier Milei 

PM Modi met President Javier Milei in Buenos Aires, where they agreed to boost India-Argentina cooperation in critical minerals, shale gas, defence, space, digital health and IT. 

Javier Gerardo Milei, an economist and politician, has been serving as President of Argentina since December 2023, and previously represented Buenos Aires as a national deputy for La Libertad Avanza until 2023. 

Gukesh 

Gukesh secured the Rapid Title at the Grand Chess Tour 2025 held in Zagreb, Croatia. 

Gukesh Dommaraju, an Indian chess grandmaster, is the reigning World Chess Champion and the youngest undisputed titleholder in history. A chess prodigy, he crossed 2750 FIDE rating at 17 and became the third youngest to surpass 2700 Elo at 16.

Scientist Dr. Subhabrata Sen has become the first Indian to be honoured with the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Perkin Prize for his groundbreaking work in developing eco-friendly AEE technology. 

Dr. Subhabrata Sen serves as a Professor in the Chemistry Department at Shiv Nadar University.

IndiGo Airlines has appointed Amitabh Kant as a Non-Executive Director to its Board. 

Amitabh Kant, former CEO of NITI Aayog, has held key roles including Union Secretary, Board Director at NHAI, and Member of the National Statistical Commission. Known for driving innovation and development, he has played a vital role in shaping policies that enhanced India’s global image and economic growth. 

Sahil Kini 

Sahil Kini has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Reserve Bank Innovation Hub (RBIH), headquartered in Bengaluru. 

Sahil Kini, an IIT Madras graduate, has worked with firms like McKinsey, Aspada Investments, and Titan. He co-founded fintech company Setu in 2018, later acquired by Pine Labs in 2022. He also contributed to key IndiaStack projects like Aadhaar and UPI through the iSPIRIT Foundation.

Jennifer Geerlings-Simons has been elected by Suriname’s Parliament as the first female President in the nation’s history. 

Jennifer Geerlings-Simons, a 71-year-old doctor and congresswoman, has made history as Suriname’s first woman President, elected by a two-thirds majority in the National Assembly of the South American nation.
