Why in News? 

• The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released the Telecommunication Tariff Order 2025 for retail broadband connectivity offered by Public Data Offices (PDOs) under the PM-WANI Scheme. 

About PM-WANI Scheme (Prime Minister’s Wi-Fi Access Network Interface) 

• Launched by: Department of Telecommunications in 2020. 
• Aim: To boost the proliferation of public Wi-Fi hotspots, especially in rural and underserved areas, thereby enhancing digital connectivity and inclusion.
