Rajouri Chikri Woodcraft, Mushqbudji Rice Secure GI Tags in Jammu-Kashmir
- The Geographical Indication (GI) Tags have been granted to Rajouri Chikri Wood Craft from Rajouri district and the esteemed Mushqbudji Rice variety from Anantnag district.
- These designations symbolize the distinct characteristics and exceptional attributes of these commodities, attributing their beginnings to regions.
- This accomplishment is an outcome of a cooperative initiative that commenced in December 2020, involving NABARD, the Department of Handicrafts & Handloom, and the Department of Agriculture.
Launch of GSAT-24

India’s First Eco-Friendly Debit Card
- Airtel Payments Bank has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the country's first bank to unveil an environmentally friendly debit card.
- This pioneering step is aimed at both new and existing customers who possess a savings bank account.
- The novel debit cards will be crafted from r-PVC material, which holds a certification as an eco-friendly substance.
- Every batch comprising 50,000 cards that is manufactured will lead to an impressive reduction of 350 kgs in carbon emissions when compared to the customary PVC cards that dominate the market. Additionally, the production of r-PVC cards will result in a remarkable 43% decrease in the usage of hydrocarbons, thereby effectively curbing petroleum consumption during the manufacturing process.
Srinagar Tops in Implementing Jal Jeevan Mission
- In the Jal Jeevan Survekshan (JJS-2023), the Srinagar district has achieved the distinction of being the top-performing district, surpassing 114 villages across India that have been certified under the Har Ghar Jal program.

Dhaksha Unmanned Systems Pvt. Ltd. Wins Order from Army for Supply of 200 Drones, Accessories
- Dhaksha Unmanned Systems, a subsidiary of Agri solutions provider Coromandel International, has revealed securing a contract for the supply of 200 medium-altitude logistics drones and related accessories from the Indian Army.
- This order follows a recent agreement for 400 Agri-spraying drones from IFFCO, highlighting Dhaksha Unmanned Systems' (DUS) successful track record. The Indian Army has chosen DUS to provide its logistics drones.
India Secured 6th Position in Internet Resilience Index
- Scoring 43 percent in the Internet Resilience Index (IRI), India has secured the sixth position in the South Asian region.
- Devised by the global non-profit organization Internet Society, the IRI offers a thorough evaluation of a nation's internet environment, considering elements like security, performance, infrastructure, and market preparedness.
