Xi Jinping and Mohamed Muizzu, Presidents of China and the Maldives, recently concluded talks, finalizing 20 pivotal agreements across diverse areas of collaboration.
The leaders announced the elevation of bilateral ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, demonstrating the mutual commitment to enhancing diplomatic relations between the two nations.
The agreements signed included tourism cooperation, disaster risk reduction, blue economy and strengthening investment in the digital economy.
China will also provide grant assistance to the Maldives, but the amount was not disclosed.
The agreements also included jointly accelerating the formulation of the Cooperation Plan on the Belt and Road Initiative.

Divyakriti Singh, a highly skilled equestrian athlete, has been honoured with the prestigious Arjuna Award.
She is the first woman from Rajasthan to receive this esteemed award.
The distinguished award was bestowed upon her during a splendid ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan, where the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, presented the honour.
