Maldives And China Sign 20 Agreements for Diverse Cooperation

  • Xi Jinping and Mohamed Muizzu, Presidents of China and the Maldives, recently concluded talks, finalizing 20 pivotal agreements across diverse areas of collaboration.
  • The leaders announced the elevation of bilateral ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, demonstrating the mutual commitment to enhancing diplomatic relations between the two nations.
  • The agreements signed included tourism cooperation, disaster risk reduction, blue economy and strengthening investment in the digital economy.
  • China will also provide grant assistance to the Maldives, but the amount was not disclosed.
  • The agreements also included jointly accelerating the formulation of the Cooperation Plan on the Belt and Road Initiative.

First Indian Woman Arjuna Awardee for Equestrian Sports

  • Divyakriti Singh, a highly skilled equestrian athlete, has been honoured with the prestigious Arjuna Award.
  • She is the first woman from Rajasthan to receive this esteemed award.
