  • National Human Trafficking Awareness Day is annually observed on 11th January.
  • It serves as a reminder that every individual worldwide should have the right to a fulfilling life, well-being, and a life free from fear.
  • It is observed every year to raise awareness about the plight of the victims and the practices that can be regularised in order to save these lives.

PM Modi to Inaugurate National Youth Festival in Nashik

  • On January 12th, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch the National Youth Festival in Nashik, Maharashtra.
  • The celebration of National Youth Day annually pays tribute to the principles and philosophies of Swami Vivekananda.
  • This year, the Department of Youth Affairs, in partnership with various government departments, will oversee the observance of National Youth Day across districts through field organizations.
  • Additionally, road safety awareness initiatives are scheduled to take place in major cities and 750 district headquarters throughout the country.

Indian Navy Gets Drishti 10 Starliner Drone

  • The Indian Navy has recently procured its first indigenous medium-altitude long-endurance (MALE) drone, known as the Drishti 10 Starliner unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).
  • This represents advancement in augmenting the navy's capabilities for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance.
  • Crafted through a collaboration between Adani Defence and Aerospace and the Israeli defence firm Elbit Systems, this drone boasts versatility and cutting-edge features.

Maldives And China Sign 20 Agreements for Diverse Cooperation

  • Xi Jinping and Mohamed Muizzu, Presidents of China and the Maldives, recently concluded talks, finalizing 20 pivotal agreements across diverse areas of collaboration.
  • The leaders announced the elevation of bilateral ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, demonstrating the mutual commitment to enhancing diplomatic relations between the two nations.
  • The agreements signed included tourism cooperation, disaster risk reduction, blue economy and strengthening investment in the digital economy.
  • China will also provide grant assistance to the Maldives, but the amount was not disclosed.
  • The agreements also included jointly accelerating the formulation of the Cooperation Plan on the Belt and Road Initiative.

First Indian Woman Arjuna Awardee for Equestrian Sports

  • Divyakriti Singh, a highly skilled equestrian athlete, has been honoured with the prestigious Arjuna Award.
  • She is the first woman from Rajasthan to receive this esteemed award.
  • The distinguished award was bestowed upon her during a splendid ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan, where the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, presented the honour.

DPIIT Organises Startup India Innovation Week 2024

  • The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, is orchestrating the Startup India Innovation Week 2024 from January 10, 2024, to January 18, 2024.
  • This was an effort to unite the nation's startups, entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, and various stakeholders.
  • As part of the National Startup Day festivities on January 16, 2024, DPIIT is hosting the result declaration and felicitation ceremony for the National Startup Awards 2023 and the 4th edition of the States' Startup Ranking Framework.
