DRDO Successfully Conducts Mission Divyastra

  • The first successful flight test of the domestically developed Agni-5 missile incorporating Multiple Independently Targetable Re-Entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology was conducted by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
  • Named Mission Divyastra, the flight test took place from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha.
  • Numerous telemetry and radar stations diligently tracked and monitored multiple re-entry vehicles. The mission achieved its intended parameters.

Shri AS Rajeev Appointed as Vigilance Commissioner in the Central Vigilance Commission

  • Shri AS Rajeev solemnly took the oath as Vigilance Commissioner on March 11, 2024, before the Central Vigilance Commissioner, duly authorized by the President of India.
  • With a career spanning over 38 years in the banking sector, Shri A S Rajeev has served in four prominent banks: Syndicate Bank, Indian Bank, Vijaya Bank, and Bank of Maharashtra.
  • During his tenure as Executive Director at Indian Bank, the institution rose to prominence as one of the most robust and profitable banks in India, boasting the lowest non-performing assets and the highest capital adequacy ratio.

Mirabai Chanu to Head to Paris to Train Ahead of Upcoming Olympics

  • The Mission Olympic Cell (MOC) within the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has given the green light to weightlifter Mirabai Chanu's plan to undergo training in LA FERTE-MILON, Paris, in anticipation of the forthcoming Olympic Games.
  • Mirabai Chanu, who clinched a Silver Medal in the Tokyo Olympics, will journey to Paris nearly a month prior to her Olympic event to adjust to the climate and gear up for the monumental occasion.

PM Inaugurates Kochrab Ashram in Sabarmati

  • The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, visited Sabarmati Ashram where he inaugurated Kochrab Ashram and launched the Master Plan of Gandhi Ashram Memorial.
  • During his visit, he paid respects to Mahatma Gandhi's statue, visited Hriday Kunj, explored an exhibition, and participated in a tree planting ceremony.
  • Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister remarked on the vibrancy of Sabarmati Ashram, highlighting its role as an enduring source of inspiration imbued with Mahatma Gandhi's principles of truth, nonviolence, and service to the nation and the marginalized.
  • He recalled Gandhi Ji's stay at Kochrab Ashram before relocating to Sabarmati and commended the redevelopment of Kochrab Ashram, which was inaugurated today.
  • The Prime Minister expressed reverence for Mahatma Gandhi and congratulated the community for these significant and uplifting initiatives.
