Hindi Diwas 2023
- Hindi Diwas or Hindi Day is observed in India on 14 September every year.
- On this day in 1949, the Hindi language was adopted as one of the official languages of the Republic of India.
- The inaugural Hindi Day was officially observed on September 14, 1953.
President Droupadi Murmu Inaugurates Digital House
- President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the Digital House project of the Gujarat Assembly.
- This initiative is a step towards a fully digitalized Assembly process, eliminating the need for paper documentation.
- It is inspired from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's idea of 'One Nation, One Application'.
India Becomes the Largest Export Partner of Bangladesh
- India has become the largest export partner of Bangladesh by surpassing Japan and China.
- This achievement can be attributed to the establishment of new trade routes facilitated by the India-Bangladesh Transit Agreement, connecting India's Northeast region to the Bay of Bengal via Agartala.
- As per the Ministry of External Affairs, this collaboration has resulted in a significant surge in Bangladesh's exports, which have grown substantially from 450 million US dollars to a remarkable 2 billion US dollars.
Centre Government Extends Ujjwala Scheme to 75 Lakh Consumers
- The Central Government has given its approval for a program to provide financial support for LPG connections to women under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
- The overall estimated budget of this scheme is Rs 1,650 crore.
- The scheme aims to release a total of 75 lakh LPG connections over three years, spanning from the Financial Year 2023-24 to 2025-26.
Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana
- On 1st May 2016, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MOPNG), introduced the ‘Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana’ (PMUY).
- Its objective is to make clean cooking fuel such as LPG available to the rural and deprived households which were otherwise using traditional cooking fuels such as firewood, coal, cow-dung cakes etc.
Punjab CM Lays Foundation Stone of Saragarhi Memorial
- Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann laid the foundation stone for a Saragarhi memorial in Ferozepur.
- It is dedicated to honour the sacrifice of 21 courageous Sikh soldiers who lost their lives in the battle of Saragarhi.
Mita Vashisht is the New Chairperson of Film Policy Governing Council
- Renowned actor Mita Vashisht has been appointed as the Chairperson of the governing council responsible for supervising the execution of the Haryana Film and Entertainment Policy by the Haryana government.
- This appointment follows the unfortunate passing of director, producer, and actor Satish Kaushik, who previously held the position of Chairperson.
Ayushman Bhav Campaign
- President Droupadi Murmu virtually launched the 'Ayushman Bhav' campaign on 13th September 2023.
- This campaign is an initiative by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
- Ayushman Bhav aims to provide Ayushman cards, generate ABHA IDs, and promote awareness regarding crucial health schemes and prevalent health conditions, including non-communicable diseases, tuberculosis, and sickle cell disease.
- It aims to achieve comprehensive healthcare service coverage through its three key components: Ayushman - Apke Dwar 3.0, Ayushman Melas held at Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs) and Community Health Centres (CHCs), and Ayushman Sabhas conducted in every village and panchayat.
- Ayushman Apke Dwar 3.0: This initiative aims to provide Ayushman cards to the remaining eligible beneficiaries who are enrolled under the PM-JAY scheme, thereby ensuring that a larger number of individuals gain access to essential health services.
- Ayushman Melas at HWCs and CHCs: These gatherings at Ayushman Bharat- HWCs and CHCs will facilitate the generation of ABHA IDs (Health IDs) and the issuance of Ayushman Bharat Cards. Additionally, they will provide early diagnosis, comprehensive primary healthcare services, teleconsultations with specialists, and make appropriate referrals when necessary.
- Ayushman Sabhas: These community gatherings held in every village and Panchayat will serve as crucial platforms for providing Ayushman cards, generating ABHA IDs, and fostering awareness about essential health schemes and prevalent health conditions, including non-communicable diseases, tuberculosis (Nikshay Mitra), sickle cell disease, in addition to promoting blood donation and organ donation drives.
