PhonePe Launches Indus Appstore for Android

  • PhonePe has introduced the Indus Appstore, an indigenous Android app marketplace crafted in India.
  • With a repository exceeding 2 lakhs apps spanning 45 categories, the platform presents users with a wide array of applications to explore and utilize.

Vice-President to visit Visakhapatnam

  • On February 22, 2024, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, the Vice-President of India, is scheduled to visit Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
  • As part of his one-day tour, Shri Dhankhar will serve as the Chief Guest at the opening ceremony of the International Maritime Seminar, titled 'MILAN-2024.'

Morgan Stanley Projects India’s GDP growth for FY25 to 6.5%

  • According to Morgan Stanley Research, India's GDP growth for Financial Year (FY) 2025 is forecasted to decrease to 6.5%, compared to the 6.9% projected for FY 2024.
  • However, despite this moderation, the report upholds a positive outlook on the Indian economy, highlighting enhancements in domestic demand and macroeconomic stability.

Prime Minister Inaugurates IIT Hyderabad Campus

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the development project of the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) campus through a video conference.
  • The project worth `1,089 crore, includes key buildings such as the international guest house, convention centre, technology incubation park, knowledge centre, sports and cultural complex, students’ hostels, and various academic and administrative buildings.

iCreate, Microsoft and MeitY Join Hands to Transform & Boost Indian Startups in AI

  • The International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Technology (iCreate) and Microsoft have entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) facilitated by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology to bolster AI startups in India.
  • This collaborative agreement aligns with the vision articulated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi during his meeting with Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella.
  • The signing of the MoU was overseen by Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Electronics and Information Technology, and Jal Shakti, Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar.
  • He emphasized that this partnership will not only support but also transform AI startups, extending its reach beyond major cities to smaller towns and villages.
