• The aim of the day is to promote environmental sustainability and awareness.
• The theme for the day 2024 is Planet vs. Plastics.

MS Dhoni Becomes the Brand Ambassador of Citroen

• French carmaker Citroen has made Mahendra Singh Dhoni as its brand ambassador in India.
• Citroen entered the Indian passenger vehicle market in April 2021 with the launch of its C5 Aircross.
• Currently, it sells three more models including C3, eC3 and C3 Aircross.

Nepal Hosted First International Rainbow Tourism Conference

• Nepal hosted first International Rainbow Tourism Conference in Kathmandu.
• The objective of the conference was to establish Nepal as an LGBT-friendly tourism hub.
• The conference was organised by a non-governmental organisation Mayako Pahichan Nepal in collaboration with Nepal Tourism Board

Mohammed Salem Won World Press Photo of the Year Award 2024

• Reuters photographer Mohammed Salem won 2024 World Press Photo of the Year award.
• The award given to him was for his image of a Palestinian woman cradling the body of her five-year-old niece in the Gaza Strip.
