Google Launches DigiKavach Program

MILAN-24

  • The Eastern Naval Command (ENC) organized the Mid Planning Conference (MPC) for MILAN 24 (Multilateral Naval Exercise - 2024) through a virtual conference.
  • The Indian Navy is set to host the MILAN 24 in Visakhapatnam from February 19 to 27, 2024.
  • The Flagship event, MILAN is a biennial multilateral naval exercise, which was incepted by the Indian Navy in 1995.

Indian Navy gets Third Guided Missile Destroyer Imphal

  • The third stealth destroyer of Project 15B Class Guided Missile Destroyer 'IMPHAL' was handed over to the Indian Navy by The Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited in Mumbai today.
  • It is constructed using Indigenous Steel DMR 249A with an overall length of 164 meters and a displacement of over 7,500 Tons.
  • The ship is a potent platform capable of undertaking a variety of tasks and missions, spanning the full spectrum of maritime warfare.

India’s First Semi-High-Speed Regional Rail Service ‘Namo Bharat’

Japan Successfully Tests Railgun

  • Japan has attained a notable accomplishment, collaborating with the Acquisition Technology & Logistics Agency (ATLA), a branch of the Japanese Ministry of Defense, the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) effectively conducted a trial of a medium-caliber maritime electromagnetic railgun from an offshore platform on 17th October 2023.
  •  This remarkable feat marks the first time any nation has managed to launch a railgun from an offshore platform.
