Google Launches DigiKavach Program
- Google introduced a program named 'DigiKavach' in India, aimed to prevent financial fraud within the country.
- The initiative, unveiled during the ninth edition of Google's annual Google for India event in Delhi,
- The event aims to provide protection against financial malpractices.
MILAN-24
- The Eastern Naval Command (ENC) organized the Mid Planning Conference (MPC) for MILAN 24 (Multilateral Naval Exercise - 2024) through a virtual conference.
- The Indian Navy is set to host the MILAN 24 in Visakhapatnam from February 19 to 27, 2024.
- The Flagship event, MILAN is a biennial multilateral naval exercise, which was incepted by the Indian Navy in 1995.
Indian Navy gets Third Guided Missile Destroyer Imphal
- The third stealth destroyer of Project 15B Class Guided Missile Destroyer 'IMPHAL' was handed over to the Indian Navy by The Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited in Mumbai today.
- It is constructed using Indigenous Steel DMR 249A with an overall length of 164 meters and a displacement of over 7,500 Tons.
- The ship is a potent platform capable of undertaking a variety of tasks and missions, spanning the full spectrum of maritime warfare.
India’s First Semi-High-Speed Regional Rail Service ‘Namo Bharat’
- India's transportation infrastructure is ready for a significant launch of the nation's first semi-high-speed regional rail service, Namo Bharat, formerly recognized as RapidX.
- This initiative is positioned to redefine regional connectivity, signifying the debut of the Regional Rapid Train Service (RRTS) in India.
Japan Successfully Tests Railgun
- Japan has attained a notable accomplishment, collaborating with the Acquisition Technology & Logistics Agency (ATLA), a branch of the Japanese Ministry of Defense, the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) effectively conducted a trial of a medium-caliber maritime electromagnetic railgun from an offshore platform on 17th October 2023.
- This remarkable feat marks the first time any nation has managed to launch a railgun from an offshore platform.
