Rajat Kumar Jain as the Chairman of Fino Payment Bank 

  • The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has granted approval to Fino Payments Bank, headquartered in Mumbai, for the appointment of Rajat Kumar Jain as the Part-time Chairman. 
  • Rajat Kumar Jain holds non-executive director positions on several boards, including those of companies within the Aditya Birla and Mahindra conglomerates. 

Indian-Origin Ex-MP Dave Sharma Wins Australian Senate Seat 

  • Dave Sharma, an Indian-origin politician, achieves a notable political resurgence with his victory in the New South Wales Liberal Senate race. 
  • He made history in 2019 as the inaugural Indian-origin lawmaker in the Australian Parliament.  
  • He will replace ex-foreign minister Marise Payne, who has retired from the Senate.

  • Vidya Pillai clinched the IBSF 6-Red Snooker World Championship title in Doha, Qatar. 
  • She defeated compatriot Anupama Ramachandran with a 4-1 score in the championship match. 

Former NABARD Chairman as Director of HDFC Bank 

  • HDFC Bank has named Harsh Kumar Bhanwala as an Additional Independent Director for a three-year term beginning January 25, 2024. 
  • Bhanwala, a former Chairman of NABARD, brings with him substantial experience in the field of finance. 

Odisha to Host Ultimate Kho Kho Season 2 

  • The second edition of Ultimate Kho Kho (UKK) is set to kick off on December 24, 2023, and culminate on January 13, 2024. 
  • The Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack, Odisha, is the chosen venue for this event.
