Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam 2023
- The Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam (ABSS) of 2023 concluded on July 30th, with education leaders pledging to collaborate in the pursuit of transforming India into a dynamic and inclusive knowledge-driven society.
- The valedictory address was delivered by Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union Minister of Education, representing the Government of India.
- During the Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam 2023, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan unveiled the logo, slogan - "Jan Jan Sakshar," and the mobile application for the Understanding Lifelong Learning for All in Society (ULLAS): Nav Bharat Saksharta Karyakram.
India and Moldova to Sign MoU for Cooperation in Agriculture
- On July 31, 2023, a significant meeting took place at Krishi Bhawan in New Delhi between Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, the Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, and Mr. Vladimir Bolea, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Agriculture & Food Industries of Moldova.
- The primary objective of the meeting was to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of agriculture between India and Moldova.
CM Command Centre
- Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the 'Chief Minister's Command Centre' along with the 'CM Dashboard'.
- He emphasized that these initiatives are crucial measures aimed at promptly addressing the issues faced by the general public and ensuring more effective implementation of government schemes.
Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana Sanctioned Over 6.23 Crore Loans
- During the Financial Year (FY) 2022-23, the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY) achieved a noteworthy milestone by sanctioning more than 6.23 crore loans.
- The primary objective of PMMY is to enable easy access to institutional finance for both new and existing micro units or enterprises by offering loans of up to 10 lakh rupees.
Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana
- Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY) on 8th April 2015.
- The primary objective of this scheme is to provide hassle-free collateral-free microcredit of up to ₹10 lakh to non-corporate, non-farm small and micro-entrepreneurs to support income-generating activities.
- Member Lending Institutions (MLIs), including Banks, Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs), Micro Finance Institutions (MFIs), and other financial intermediaries, are responsible for offering the loans under PMMY.
Foxconn Signs Deal with TN to Build Plant in Kancheepuram
- Foxconn Industrial Internet (FII), a unit of Foxconn, entered into an agreement with the state of Tamil Nadu to establish a new facility for electronic components, which is expected to generate 6,000 job opportunities.
- FII intends to invest Rs 1,600 crore ($194.45 million) in constructing the campus located in the Kancheepuram district, near Chennai.
Akira Ransomware
- The Indian government has issued a warning regarding a perilous ransomware known as Akira, which is specifically targeting Windows and Linux systems.
- The group responsible for this ransomware not only encrypts data but also steals personal information, coercing victims into paying a ransom.
- If the ransom is not paid, the group threatens to expose the compromised data on the dark web.
