Union Health Ministry Launched MyCGHS IOS App

  • The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare launched the myCGHS app for iOS ecosystem of devices.
  • The app is designed to enhance access to Electronic Health Records, information, and resources for Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) beneficiaries.
  • The app is developed by the technical teams of the National Informatics Centre (NIC) Himachal Pradesh and NIC Health Team.
  • It is a convenient mobile application with security features like 2-factor authentication and functionality of mPIN ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of users' data.

International Mine Awareness Day

  • International Mine Awareness Day is annually observed on 4th April.
  • The day is dedicated to raising awareness about the serious impact of landmines and other explosive remnants of war on civilians and aims to promote the protection of persons with disabilities in conflict and peacebuilding settings.
  • The theme for the day 2024 is Protecting Lives, Building Peace.

Japan Launched e-Visa for Indian Tourists

  • Japan launched e-Visa for Indians enabling 90-day stays for tourism without physical visa stickers.
  • Applicants receive an electronic visa and must show a digital visa issuance notice with a barcode at airport check-in.

Agni-Prime Missile

  • The new generation ballistic missile Agni-Prime has been successfully tested from the APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha.
  • The test met all the trial objectives validating its reliable performance, as confirmed by the data captured by several range sensors deployed at different locations.

SJVN Partners with IIT Patna to Enhance Tunneling Project Performance

  • Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology Patna (IIT Patna).
  • The MoU aims to leverage advanced geological models developed by IIT Patna to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of SJVN’s tunneling projects.
