Amrit Brikshya Andolan App
- The Assam government has unveiled a groundbreaking initiative named 'Amrit Brikshya Andolan,' demonstrating its commitment to combat climate change and enhance forest cover.
- The project aims to plant 1 crore saplings in a single day in September, a significant milestone in the state's endeavour to bolster its green economy and play a pivotal role in the fight against global warming.
- The primary goal of this large-scale initiative is to substantially expand Assam's forest cover and promote collective action to address the challenges posed by climate change.
Aadi Perukku 2023
- The Tamil Cultural community observes Aadi Perukku, also known as Pathinettam Perukku, as a propitious festival dedicated to celebrating the monsoon season and the fertility of the soil.
- Aadi Perukku falls on August 3rd, coinciding with the 18th day of the Tamil month of Aadi.
- This traditional celebration typically takes place in late July or early August and revolves around expressing gratitude towards water bodies, as the entire month of Aadi marks the advent of the monsoon season.
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to Modernise Edtech Platform DIKSHA
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) has been chosen by the ministry of education to revamp the national education technology platform, Digital Infrastructure for Knowledge Sharing (DIKSHA).
- This partnership aims to modernize DIKSHA and enhance its accessibility while reducing IT expenses.
- Over the course of a seven-year collaboration, OCI will assist the ministry in leveraging DIKSHA to deliver educational resources to a significantly larger number of students, teachers, and collaborators throughout the nation.
National Mission for Clean Ganga Approves 7 Projects
- Under the chairmanship of DG, NMCG, Shri G. Asok Kumar, the Executive Committee of the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) convened and approved seven projects with an estimated value of approximately Rs. 692 crore.
- Among these projects, four focus on sewage management in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
- NMCG has sanctioned a total of 452 projects valued at about Rs. 38,126 crore, and among them, 254 projects have been successfully completed.
CRED Launches RuPay Credit Card-Based UPI Payments
- In partnership with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), the fintech firm CRED has launched RuPay credit card-based Unified Payments Interface (UPI) payments for its members.
- The company's latest initiative enables support for RuPay credit cards issued by several banks, including HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Yes Bank, Axis Bank, BOB Financial Solutions, Canara Bank, Indian Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Punjab National Bank, and Union Bank.
