World Food Safety Day 2023

• Each year on June 7, World Food Safety Day is observed worldwide, emphasizing the significance of upholding food standards.
• The objective of this day is to inspire United Nations member countries to give high priority to food safety standards and foster global cooperation in safeguarding consumers against foodborne illnesses.
• The theme of this year’s World Food Safety Day is “Food standards save lives.”

Kerala Fibre Optical Network (KFON)

• The Kerala government, led by Pinarayi Vijayan, formally introduced the Kerala Fibre Optical Network (KFON).
• As the first state to recognize the internet as a fundamental right, the Kerala government aims to bridge the digital divide by leveraging KFON to provide high-speed broadband internet connectivity to every household and government office.
• The initiative reflects the government's commitment to ensuring universal access to reliable internet services.

Bank of Baroda's UPI Cash Withdrawal Facility at its ATMs

• Bank of Baroda has introduced the Interoperable Cardless Cash Withdrawal (ICCW) feature for its customers, enabling them to withdraw cash from ATMs using UPI (Unified Payments Interface.
• To initiate the withdrawal process, customers can choose the 'UPI Cash Withdrawal' option displayed on the ATM screen and enter the desired amount. Once selected, the customer can utilize a UPI-enabled app with ICCW functionality to scan the provided QR code.
• To authorize the transaction, the customer will need to enter their UPI PIN on their mobile device. Bank of Baroda has implemented this convenient method to facilitate cash withdrawals for its customers using UPI technology.

Project Kuber Launched by SBI

• The Bengaluru Circle of State Bank of India (SBI) unveiled Project Kuber, an initiative comprising Four Transaction Banking Hubs and One Corporate Salary Package Hub.
• The primary objective of these hubs is to efficiently address and support the diverse banking requirements of customers.
• By focusing on liability products, these hubs aim to enhance SBI's market share in this sector. The launch of Project Kuber reinforces SBI's commitment to providing comprehensive banking solutions and expanding its customer base in Bengaluru.
• The hubs situated at SBI Administrative Building, Mysore Bank Circle, KG Road, Sampige Road, and Malleshwaram were officially inaugurated.

AIIMS-Nagpur Receives NABH Accreditation

• AIIMS-Nagpur has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) in India to be awarded the esteemed accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH).
