Sushil Kumar Singh Appointed as Chairperson of Deendayal Port Authority

  • Sushil Kumar Singh was appointed by the government to lead the Deendayal Port Authority, formerly Kandla Port.
  • He is a joint secretary in charge of ports, PPP and PHRD in the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.
  • He succeeded S. K. Mehta.

Helen Mary Became 1st Woman Brigadier in Pakistan Army

  • Dr. Helen Mary Roberts became the 1st Woman Brigadier from Christian and minority community in Pakistan Army.
  • She has been serving as a senior pathologist in the Pakistan Army.

NIMHANS Won Nelson Mandela Award 2024

  • The World Health Organization (WHO) has conferred the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) Bengaluru with the Nelson Mandela Award for 2024.
  • The award was conferred for health promotion at the 77th World Health Assembly in Geneva.

Tanvi Sharma Won Women’s Singles Title of Bonn International Badminton Tournament

  • Tanvi Sharma bagged the women’s singles title of the Bonn International Badminton Tournament in Germany.
  • She defeated Wang Pei Yu of Taiwan in straight sets.
