Why in the News?

On 15^th November 2024, India and Japan signed a Memorandum of Implementation in Tokyo for the co-development of the UNICORN mast for the Indian Navy. This collaboration, marking the first co-development of defense equipment between the two countries, aims to enhance naval stealth capabilities. Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) will partner with Japan’s ATLA to develop the advanced communication system.
