Why in the News?

Indian musicians Ricky Kej and Anoushka Shankar have received nominations for the 67^th Grammy Awards, set to take place on 2^nd February 2025, in Los Angeles. Kej, a three-time Grammy winner, was nominated for his album Break of Dawn in the Best New Age, Ambient, or Chant Album category. Sitarist Anoushka Shankar was also nominated in this category for her album Chapter II: How Dark It Is Before Dawn. Their nominations celebrate Indian music’s growing global influence.
