Why in News?
A replica of the Mohenjodaro ‘Dancing Girl’ was stolen from the National Museum in Delhi but later recovered.
- The bronze figurine dates back to the Indus Valley Civilization (c. 2500 BCE), discovered in 1926 by Ernest Mackay at Mohenjodaro.
- Created using the Lost-Wax Casting Technique, where a wax model is covered with a mold, melted out, and replaced with molten metal.
