Nobel Prize in Literature for 2025 is awarded to László Krasznahorkai, for his compelling and visionary oeuvre that, in the midst of apocalyptic terror, reaffirms the power of art. 

  • László Krasznahorkai is a Hungarian novelist and screenwriter, known for postmodern, dystopian, and melancholic novels. 
  • Famous Works– Satantango, The Melancholy of Resistance, War & War, Seiobo There Below, The Last Wolf, The World Goes On. 
  • Achievements– Winner of 2015 Man Booker International Prize, shortlisted for the 2018 Man Booker International Prize (The World Goes On). 
  • Rabindranath Tagore became the first non-European to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913 for 'Gitanjali'. 
  • India’s celebrated novelist Amitav Ghosh was among the contenders for 2025 Nobel Prize in Literature.
