Zohran Mamdani 

 

Recently, Mamdani was officially declared the winner following the completion of ranked-choice vote counting. His victory marks a significant political shift in a major global city, reflecting growing support for progressive and democratic socialist values. 

  • Zohran Kwame Mamdani, born in Uganda, moved to New York at age 7 and later became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2018. 
  • Zohran is the first South Asian man, first Ugandan, and third Muslim in the New York State Assembly, aiming to represent and uplift marginalized communities. 

 

Dr. B. V. Pattabhiram 

 

Dr. B.V. Pattabhiram, a renowned psychologist, hypnotist, and motivational speaker, passed away in Hyderabad at the age of 75. 

  • Dr. B.V. Pattabhiram was a renowned hypnotist, illusionist, and psychologist with over 50 years of experience, known for helping people overcome stress and self-doubt. 
  • He received an honorary doctorate from the University of Florida (1983), honorary citizenship in two U.S. cities, and earned praise from leaders like Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and P.V. Narasimha Rao. 

 

 John Dramani Mahama 

 

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was received by H.E. Mr. John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, and given a ceremonial welcome upon his arrival at Accra Airport. 

  • John Dramani Mahama has served as both the fourth and sixth President of the Fourth Republic of Ghana, with his presidential term lasting from January 7, 2013, to January 6, 2017. 
  • A passionate reader, author, and historian, Mahama has written for numerous newspapers and published several works, including his memoir titled "My First Coup d’État and Other True Stories from the Lost Decades of Africa." 
  • He was the first Co-chair of the UN Advocacy Group on Sustainable Development Goals and currently serves as the Chair of the TANA Forum, a leading African security platform based in Ethiopia. 

 

Kesavan Ramachandran 

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has appointed Shri Kesavan Ramachandran as an Executive Director (ED). 

  • Kesavan Ramachandran previously served as Principal Chief General Manager in RBI’s Risk Monitoring Department. 
  • He represented RBI on Canara Bank’s Board for over 5 years and contributed to the ICAI’s Auditing and Assurance Standards Board for 2 years.
