World Accreditation Day 2023
- World Accreditation Day (WAD2023) is observed on June 9th, 2023, and is a worldwide endeavor led by the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF).
- Its primary objective is to raise awareness about the importance and benefits of accreditation.
- The theme selected for this year's World Accreditation Day focuses on the critical concept of "Accreditation: Empowering the Future of Global Trade."
New-Generation Ballistic Missile ‘Agni Prime’
- India's Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) achieved a notable milestone in enhancing the country's defense capabilities by successfully conducting the inaugural pre-induction night launch of the advanced ballistic missile known as 'Agni Prime.'
- The test took place at Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island near Odisha's coast, demonstrated the missile's remarkable precision and dependability, effectively fulfilling all predetermined objectives for the trial.
‘I am Adyar, Adyar is Me’ Campaign Launched by Federal Bank
- The Federal Bank has launched a distinctive campaign in Chennai called 'I am Adyar, Adyar is me.'
- This initiative involves the transformation of an entire bank branch into a living museum that highlights the unique stories and experiences of the Adyar neighborhood.
- By incorporating vibrant artwork on the walls and hosting an exclusive exhibition featuring 40 captivating tales, the campaign seeks to encapsulate the essence of Adyar while showcasing the struggles and triumphs of its remarkable residents.
Girl Empowerment Mission 2023
- As a part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) endeavors, NTPC Kanti has introduced the Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM)-2023.
- This initiative involves a four-week residential workshop program designed to empower 40 underprivileged rural girls residing in the Kanti block.
- NTPC Kanti, organizing this program for the first time, aims to offer academic training, skill development, and holistic personality enhancement to the participants, thereby promoting their empowerment and overall growth.
Launch of “Ajay to Yogi Adityanath” Novel
- Renowned author Shantanu Gupta, known for his successful books on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has released a new graphic novel titled "Ajay to Yogi Adityanath."
- The launch of the novel took place in over 51 schools across Uttar Pradesh on June 5th, coinciding with Yogi Adityanath's 51st birthday.
- Shantanu Gupta has previously authored two bestselling books on Yogi Adityanath, namely "The Monk Who Transformed Uttar Pradesh" and "The Monk Who Became Chief Minister."
Union Cabinet has Approved the Third Revival Package for BSNL
- The Union Cabinet has granted approval for the third revival package for BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) with a total outlay of Rs. 89,047 crore.
- This package includes an increase in the authorized capital of BSNL from Rs. 1,50,000 crore to Rs. 2,10,000 crore.
- The objective of this revival package is to enable BSNL to establish itself as a reliable telecom service provider with a primary focus on extending connectivity to the most remote regions of India.
- The allocated funds will be utilized to enhance BSNL's 4G and 5G services, strengthening its technological capabilities and expanding its network reach.
Gaganyaan Mission
- Tata Elxsi, a prominent global engineering company, has entered into a partnership with the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) for the forthcoming Gaganyaan Mission.
- As part of this collaboration, Tata Elxsi has taken the responsibility of designing and developing the crew module recovery models (CMRM) that will be utilized for training the recovery team involved in the space mission.
- The objective of ISRO's Gaganyaan Mission is to showcase the capability of human spaceflight.
- The mission involves launching a three-member crew into a 400 km orbit for a duration of three days. The crew will then be safely brought back to Earth, with the spacecraft landing in the waters of the Indian sea.
