INS Tamal 

• The Indian Navy has commissioned INS Tamal, a Russian-built guided missile frigate, equipped with dual-role BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles. 
  • INS Tamal is a powerful multi-role warship enhancing India's maritime strike capability. 
• It marks the last foreign warship induction, aligning with India's push for defence self-reliance. 
• The commissioning took place at Yantar Shipyard in Kaliningrad, Russia, and the ship will now head to its homeport in Karwar, Karnataka. 
• The Navy also received ‘Yard 12652 (Udaygiri)’, the second Project 17A stealth frigate, built by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDSL), Mumbai. 
  • INS Udaygiri is an advanced stealth frigate designed and built under Make in India.

Rail One App 

• Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw launched the 'RailOne' app during the 40th Foundation Day of CRIS to enhance digital access for railway passengers. 
• The app serves as a one-stop platform for ticket booking, PNR enquiry, journey planning, meal booking, and freight enquiries. 
• It features a clean, user-friendly interface, single sign-on, biometric login, and R-Wallet integration, offering a smooth and secure experience. 
• RailOne aims to unify all key railway services under one app, supporting the Digital India initiative and boosting efficiency and convenience for millions. 

Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) Scheme 

• The Union Cabinet, chaired by PM Narendra Modi, approved the ELI Scheme, aiming to create over 3.5 crore formal jobs in two years, especially in manufacturing. 
• Announced in Budget 2024–25, the scheme offers direct incentives to first-time employees (up to ₹15,000 wages in two installments) and employers hiring new workers, with a total outlay of ₹1 lakh crore. 
• It promotes EPFO registration, financial literacy, and savings among youth, with incentives paid via DBT and PAN-linked employer accounts. 
• For manufacturing, incentives are extended up to 4 years, supporting India's push for job creation and formal workforce expansion.
