Amrit Bharat railway stations
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate 103 redeveloped railway stations across 18 states and union territories under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS).
- The scheme aims to modernize over 1,300 stations nationwide by enhancing passenger amenities and incorporating regional architectural styles.
- The 103 stations, redeveloped at a cost of around ₹1,100 crore, cover 86 districts across states including Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
- During his Rajasthan visit, PM Modi will also flag off a new express train between Bikaner and Mumbai and inaugurate the redeveloped Deshnok station after visiting the Karni Mata temple.
OPEC Countries
- OPEC+ is raising oil output to counter growing U.S. shale production and regain market share lost over the past decade.
- OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) is a permanent intergovernmental organization.
- It was founded in 1960 at the Baghdad Conference by Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela.
- The main objective of OPEC is to manage oil supply to stabilize global oil prices.
- This helps prevent price fluctuations that could negatively impact the economies of oil-producing and consuming countries.
- OPEC's headquarters is located in Vienna, Austria.

THE CHINA-PAKISTAN Economic Corridor (CPEC)
- China, Pakistan, and Afghanistan have agreed to expand the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to Afghanistan to enhance trilateral cooperation and promote regional peace and development.
- The decision was made after a meeting in Beijing between the foreign ministers of China, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.
- CPEC is a major infrastructure project under China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), launched in 2013, aimed at connecting China and Pakistan through roads, energy projects, and trade routes.
Anti-Terrorism Day
- Anti-Terrorism Day is observed every year on 21st May across India to raise awareness about the dangers of terrorism and violence.
- The day commemorates the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi by terrorists on 21st May 1991.
BrahMos-NG
- BrahMos-NG (Next Generation) is a new, lighter air-launched missile with an extended range of up to 800 km, mounted on Su-30MKI and other fighters like LCA Tejas.
- It was used by the Indian Air Force (IAF) for precision strikes on Pakistani targets in May 2025.
- BrahMos-NG is expected to be ready for production within 1-2 years and will be the IAF’s primary deterrent weapon.
- The IAF has strengthened its strike capabilities by inducting BrahMos missiles on Su-30MKI jets, enhancing precision and deterrence.
