Gaurav Gogoi  

Gaurav Gogoi, appointed as the new Assam Congress President by the All-India Congress Committee.  

• Gaurav Gogoi is a Member of Parliament from Jorhat, Assam, and currently serves as the Deputy Leader of the Indian National Congress in the Lok Sabha.  
• He has previously contributed significantly to party affairs and parliamentary leadership, bringing visibility to Assam’s issues at the national level.  

Dr. Samir V. Kamat  

The Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) granted a further one-year extension to Dr. Samir V. Kamat, Secretary, Department of Defence Research and Development and Chairman, Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO).  

•  Dr. Samir V. Kamat is the Secretary of the Department of Defence Research and Development and the Chairman of DRDO since August 2022, succeeding Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy.  

Tejaswani  

Indian shooter Tejaswani won Gold in 25m pistol event at ISSF Junior World Cup.

• Tejaswani, an Indian shooter, won the gold medal in the women’s 25m pistol event at the ISSF Junior World Cup 2025 held in Suhl, Germany.  
• She secured the top position by scoring 31 points in the final round of the event.
