It is annually celebrated on 28^th September.
The day was first celebrated in 2007 as a global initiative to focus on rabies prevention.
It marks the death anniversary of Louis Pasteur, the French chemist and microbiologist, who developed the first rabies vaccine.
Aim: It aims to raise awareness and advocate for rabies elimination globally.
