2nd Session of International Organization for Marine Aids to Navigation (IALA) Council 

• India participated as Vice President in the 2nd IALA Council Session in Nice, France, led by Shri T.K. Ramachandran. 
• India showcased its advancements in vessel traffic services and invited member states to the 2025 IALA General Assembly and 2027 Conference in Mumbai. 
• Key discussions included marine aids to navigation, lighthouse preservation, and IoT protocols, with India’s leadership praised for its maritime contributions. 

Hodeidah Port 

• Israel has launched its first naval strike on Yemen’s Hodeidah Port. 
• Hodeidah Port is located in Western Yemen on the coast of the Red Sea. 
• It is vital for Yemen, handling about 70% of imports and 80% of humanitarian aid. 
• Along with Salif and Ras Issa, Hodeidah is crucial for trade and aid entry into Yemen.
