PV Sindhu 

 

PV Sindhu recently spoke at FLAME University, Pune, revealing the challenges she faced on her path to success. 

Key Achievements of PV Sindhu: 

  • Asian Youth Under-19 Championship in 2012. 
  • She became the first Indian woman to win a silver medal in badminton at the 2016 Rio Olympics. 
  • She secured a bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. 
  •  In 2019, Sindhu made history as the first Indian to claim a gold medal at the BWF World Championships. 
  • Sindhu has triumphed in several major tournaments, including the India Open, Korea Open, and won the gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Renowned nuclear scientist Dr. MR Srinivasan, former Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission, has left us for heavenly adobe. 

  • He was an eminent nuclear scientist and former Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission. 
  • He played a pivotal role in shaping India’s civil nuclear energy program.  
  • His career with the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) extended over more than fifty years, starting in September 1955.  
  • He collaborated closely with Homi Bhabha on building Apsara, India’s first nuclear research reactor, which achieved criticality in August 1956.

Kempaiah Somashekar 

 

Justice Kempaiah Somashekar has been appointed as the Chief Justice of Manipur High Court. 

  • Justice Somashekar began his legal career in 1990, practicing both civil and criminal law in the districts of Mysore and Chamarajanagar.  
  • In 1998, he was directly appointed as a District and Sessions Judge.  
  • Later, he was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Karnataka High Court in July 2016 and was made a permanent Judge in July 2018.

According to an order from the Personnel Ministry, Tapan Kumar Deka, the Intelligence Bureau (IB) chief, has been granted a one-year extension, extending his tenure until June 2026. 

  • Tapan Kumar Deka, born on 25 February 1963, is an Indian bureaucrat and IPS officer. 
  • He belongs to the Himachal Pradesh cadre from the 1988 batch.  
  • In 2021, he was promoted to the rank of Director General of Police.
